Construction and planning phase

The begin of the construction was on 1.february after the planning phase.

Already on 1. September 2007, the first school building of the first stage is officially opened with 120 students (6 to 15 years).

The school building has two floors and is 15m long and 8m wide. Before starting construction, the area was leveled and a one kilometer long access road to the building was created to transport materials to the building site.

A big part of the materials ( such as bricks, sand, cement and construcion steel ) came from Rishikesh, which is 100 km away, because these substances were not available in the mountain area around Pauri. The concrete was mixed with Carbometum ( an extra substance to increase the energetic quality ). You can see it here www.carbometum.ch . The facade and the foundations were built with natural stones, which were encurred during excavation. Only for the inner walls of the building purchased bricks were used.

The workers had their modest accommodations direct on the construction site. The working hours were eight hours a day, the same like in Europe.

From the Drinking water source, which is around one and a half kilometers away, was built a water reservoir and water pipes to it.

The water tank ( Capacity: around 30.000 liters ) is near the school building.

For the treatment of drinking water and sanitation, we are currently looking for experts, who have experience with effective microorganisms, a natural solution.

Because of no sure power supply, we are in exchange with solar technics,  how we can realize an own power generation, which is ecologically and economically. This time our power supply comes from solar collectors.

100 trees were planted and first places for growing vegetables were prepared. By operating an own garden, the vegetables for the daily use should grow selffish.
